Welcome to the official website for the Annual Plainfield-Queen City Historic 5K Walk/Run for Life. We have been busy with preparation for this years event and are excited as we anticipate this year to be the grandest and most enjoyable yet! Come back to this sight often as you will be able to gain valuable information leading up to the event. This year the event will kickoff on October 5th. Festiviteis will begin at 8AM with Plainfields Marching Band and a host of entertainment sure to please whether you're an avid athlete working on besting your 5K time on our USATF certified course, a fun loving walk/runner, or simply out with family and friends to enjoy the Autumn classic.
Whatever your worthy draw to the event, you can be sure to we'll do everything in our power to make this the best walk/run event you've come to all year. There will be more vendors, and entertainment. You'll have the option to compete as a team this year, and other enhancements are planned. In addition, we will pay tribute to Plainfield's own Milt Campbell. Referred to as "The World's Greatest Athlete", Milt was the Olympic Decathlon Silver Medalist in 1952 and came back and won the Decathlon Gold Medal in the 1956 Olympics. Milt was the first African American to win the Decathlon and played professional football for the Cleveland Browns and in the Canadian Football League. We will pay tribute to Milt (posthumous) with members of his family.
With all that said, again, do come back to this sight often. Let us know what's on your mind and what you're looking forward to in the event.
Yours Truly,
Darryl Clark - Event Founder, Executive Director/Chairman
