'Plainfield-Queen City Historic Walk/Run for Life' is in the works for 2014!

Yes, we are gearing up for this years annual event and it looks to be bigger and better than ever.  Save the date, October 11.  The new theme for this years event is "Celebrating our Diversity: Unity and Wellness in Motion".  Our 5 pillars for which the event is held are the same: 1) help engage and unify our communities, 2) highlight the beauty and vast history of Plainfield, 3) enrich a positive environment and self image (especially for our youth),  4) bring about greater awareness and appreciation for good health and wellness, 5) raise funds for needing children and senior programs.

There will be something for everyone whether you're a serious runner/walker looking to best your time (on our USATF certified 3.1 mile course), or competing for the cash prizes, or you're out to simply have a great Autumn day with family and friends. You'll have the option of a 1 mile fun walk/run, and of course for the little ones there's a Lollipop run.  In keeping with our theme during this years event we'll be emphasizing the amazing history and diversity of Plainfield and surrounding communities in the area (in terms of thinking/ideals, cultures, religions, and businesses/organizations to name a few) .  Stay tuned for more on this.

Again, we'll have vendors, bands, special treats, awards and more.  Keep checking back to this site for additional info as we get closer to the event.  If you'd like to participate in the capacity of volunteering (we need volunteers), vending, sponsoring, performing, or you'd like to join the organization committee, send us an e-mail to: plainfieldwalkrun@gmail.com for more information.

Check back here soon and often as we will be loading this sight with lots of good information going forward up to the event.  Also, post your thoughts about the event here, and don't forget to tell others about this fun filled fund raiser.

Yours truly,

Darryl Clark
